The Three Ex-Soldiers
On 28th February, 1948,three ex-soldiers namely Sergeant Cornelius Francis Adjetey, Corporal Patrick Attipoe and Private Odartey Lamptey who had fought in the World War II (WWII) for the British.
They were shot dead at the crossroads to the Osu Christiansborg castle, during a peaceful procession to hand a letter to the then Governor of the Gold Coast (Ghana) Gerald Creasy.

Their death sparked riots across the Gold Coast (Ghana) and many shops looted as a result.

Statues of them sit on a monument raised to honour them on the 28th February Road near Christiansborg Castle.
